Official Game Guide

Game Play

Beat 16 is played with one standard 52-card deck. Players may play one, two, or three independent hands. The objective is simple: create a two-card total greater than 16. Totals of 17 through 22 win, while totals of 16 or less lose.

Step by Step

How a Round Works

Open each section for the full current Beat 16 procedure.

1. Objective and Card Values

The player's dealt card is combined with each of the Dealer's three Flop Cards to form Hand 1, Hand 2, and Hand 3. Each hand is played and settled independently.

  • Two-card totals of 17 through 22 win.
  • Two-card totals of 16 or less lose.
  • All Aces count as 11.
  • Jacks, Queens, and Kings count as 10.
  • All other cards count at face value.
2. Before the Deal

Players choose Hand 1 only, Hands 1 and 2, or Hands 1, 2, and 3. All active main-game wagers must be equal. Players may also place the optional Under Seven wager before any cards are dealt.

3. The Deal

Once all wagers have been made, the Dealer deals one dealt card face up to each player. The Dealer then places three Flop Cards face down in front of each player's active hands.

The same dealt card is used with each active Dealer Flop Card to form the player's independent hands.
4. Under Seven

Once the dealt card has been revealed, the Under Seven wager is immediately settled. If the dealt card is a 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6, the Under Seven wager wins according to the paytable. This wager is completely independent and is not affected by the outcome of the main game.

5. Double Down

Players may double their wager on any active hand after seeing their dealt card, provided the Dealer's Flop Card has not yet been revealed.

Each hand is played and settled independently. Doubling one hand does not prevent the player from doubling another active hand before its Flop Card is revealed.

6. Revealing and Settling the Hands

The Dealer reveals the Flop Cards one at a time from Hand 1 through Hand 3.

1

Hand 1

The dealt card is combined with the first Flop Card. Hand 1 is paid or collected.

2

Hand 2

The same dealt card is combined with the second Flop Card. Hand 2 is paid or collected independently.

3

Hand 3

The same dealt card is combined with the third Flop Card. Hand 3 is paid or collected independently.

7. Premium 22

Premium 22 occurs when the two-card hand contains the Ace of Hearts and the Ace of Spades in either order. Premium 22 pays according to the specific hand played. Any other two-card total of 22 is paid according to the standard 22 paytable.

8. End of the Game

After all active hands have been paid or collected, the game is complete. A new game begins with a freshly shuffled 52-card deck.
